Stuck At Home

Hello, my name is Missy and I am a gym rat. The gym has become “my place.” I have gym buddies, am a creature of habit and I HATE missing one of my classes. But I live in the Midwest and am in the middle of this stupid polar vortex. Yesterday I was stuck at home. I could have bundled up my two boys (ages 5 and 7) that were also stuck at home but the windchill was in the negative 30s. My husband was home but he plowed for 18 hours the previous day. I decided that staying home was the better choice than to go to my Monday bootcamp class to run on a treadmill. Stacy and I participate in a bootcamp class three days a week. I like to call Monday “run for your life” day. Our trainer makes us run fast and run hard. I am sure we will post about how terrible our treadmill work out was in MANY future posts. I prefer going to the gym for my work outs because I have way too many distractions at home- don’t we all? It is 100 times harder to motivate myself to work out at home. But I did it! I didn’t force myself off of the couch until 9:50pm but I WORKED OUT. Since it was so late, I cut my work out a tad bit short but here is what I did:

2 rounds of
20 weighted squats, 20 roll ups on a bosu into a push up and inch worm, walking planks

2 rounds of
20 snatches, 20 squats on bosu, walking planks

2 rounds of
20 weighted lunges, 20 roll ups on bosu, walking planks

If you are not familiar with a certain exercise I listed, please comment below and I will be happy to explain it for you. However, exactly what I did last night is not the point. The point is that I ignored my distractions, got up off of my couch and did something. The exercises I did may be too difficult for you or perhaps too easy. No matter what your fitness level is, you CAN work out at home.

Now get up off of your couch or computer chair and go work out!
